Speaker Biography<\/h4>

Declan Keeney is a Professor of Screen Technologies and Innovation at Ulster University and Director of the Ulster Screen Academy. Declan is also Director of Research, Development and Innovation at Studio Ulster, a \u00a375m, 70,000 ft2 Virtual Production Studio complex with dedicated R&D labs currently under construction at Belfast Harbour Studios. Declan\u2019s current research in support of the screen industries represents \u00a391.5m worth of live grant-based research and development investments. Declan is a Co-investigator at Future Screens NI and recently secured \u00a32.9m from the Levelling Up Fund for a hybrid virtual production studio. He is Co-I on a \u00a33.2m EPSRC Network+ grant entitled \u2018Virtual Production in a Digital economy\u2019 with partners York, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and UAL. Declan chairs a SIG in Real-time and Virtual Production and opened a \u00a31.6m Virtual Production training facility at Ulster in 2021, the first of its kind in a university in the UK or Ireland.<\/p><\/p>
